Might As Well Say It Part 5: The Guilty Should Be Punished

If someone kills your brother, you would want to see him tried in court and locked away for life. You might even be happy to see him get the death penalty. It won't bring your brother back, but it might set your heart at peace to know that his killer has been punished.
If a person driving a vehicle over the speed limit hits your child on their way home from a night of partying, you would want them tried and put away UNDER the jail. Indeed, many of us, myself included, would want to see them dead or see them suffer immeasurably.
So why is it, that when its someone you know who is doing the killing, you see "Free Joe!" all over your fb wall, or twitter feed or wherever else? I mean, the last time I checked, people get locked up for breaking the law. That's why we have jails: to lock away those who cannot abide by society's laws and prove to be a danger to society or a misfit in other areas. Why would be want a criminal running free amongst us? I know I don't.
Plenty of my family members have been incarcerated. All of them have been guilty. I won't waste my time, intelligence or breath defending someone who is obviously guilty.
There seems to be some kind of retarded entitlement amongst our people where we believe that we are above the law and if, for some reason we decide to break the law, the police are "devils" or "pigs" (whom, apparently, we should fuck, based on all the FUCK THE POLICE signs I see) and we have been imprisoned wrongly. Why do we think we can break the law and get away with it? Why do we think the rules don't apply to us?
Now, I am not saying that some people aren't imprisoned wrongly, there are plenty of mistakes made in the judicial system, but ask yourself: how many innocent people do you know who went to jail? Think hard now. None? I didnt think so...
It all boils down to this: if you break the law, you deserve to be punished. that applies to all the laws you break, not simply the ones you get caught breaking. and if going to jail is part of your punishment, please do your time and learn from your mistakes.
Keep these points in mind:
--Going to jail is not a badge of honor, it is a sign that you are stupid enough to break a law and you have no regard for your future, as you will have a blemish on your record for the rest of your life
--Saying "fuck the police" is not a sign of "coolness", it is total, complete and blatant disrespect to the men and women who risk their lives daily to protect us. Yes, there are some corrupt cops and yes, some of them are too eager to arrest our people, but that in no way represents the larger population. I have been pulled over a few times in the past and I have had some assholes and I have had some very helpful officers, both black and white. I have been talked down to by officers and I have had some officers go out of their way to show me respect and protect my interests. It goes both ways and the examples of some should not taint the image of all. Just like all black people aren't criminal welfare recipients, all cops aren't bad.
--Saying "Free Joe" doesn't make you a loyal friend, it makes you look stupid. If you know that Joe committed the crime, why free him? You might as well open the prison gates and let out all the criminals, simply because their "friends" want them free. Better yet, why don't you talk to Joe and educate him on better choices so that when he is released, he will have a better future for himself.
It shows a brand new level of ignorance to want to "free" a criminal who has done something wrong based solely on the fact that he/she is your brother, sister, mother, father, etc.
Educate yourselves and your friends and stop breaking the law, as that is pretty much the only surefire way to not be imprisoned. Stop the ignorance people.
It had to be said.
The truth, the whole and nuttin but.
Stay tuned
